Pickin' Wildflowers.

I was surfing through my instagram, and I noticed a common theme...

Flowers.

They make me happy, and I take pictures of them.

And then, I get reminded of this song, thus the title of this post.

What’s your favorite flower this summer??

What I Wore: Work Staples

A classic black blazer...

It never goes out of style.  It's always perfect for the office.  It should be a staple in everyone's closet.

I'd like to think the same thing about a wide leg tweed pant.

We all know how much I love tweed!

My Favorite Summer Accessories

Today I'm sharing some of my must-have summer accessories.  They include...

Favorite Summer Accessories

A big floppy hat.
The look is timeless, classic, and just about anyone can pull it off.  It will keep the sun out of your face and off your shoulders.  Also, it’s versatile enough for the beach or strolling around town.

A great pair of sunnies.
Though their main purpose is eye protection from UVA/UVB Rays, I like to make them apart of my outfit.  And like shoes, a girl can never have enough sunglasses.

A fun broach/clip.
Spice up a plain white T, your bag, or your hair with a whimsy broach/clip.  It can pull an entire look together and make it look polished.

A big ol’ ring.
Think statement piece – it could jazz up your entire look.

A light-weight scarf.
Often times during summer, it’s chilly in the morning, scorching during the day, and then cooler again at night.  Having a scarf that you can take on and off throughout the day is the perfect piece to keep you comfortable, without having to change your entire outfit.

What are your favorite summer accessories??

Gone Fishin'

It's summertime.  You know what that means??  Fishing.  And lots of it.

Husband likes to fish:
Woahh, big catch, huh??

Naww, normally he catches these:

And these:

 But he'd rather catch this:

Me...

I catch these:

And I'm ok with that.

Because at least I don't do this:

So yeah, husband loves to fish and eat fish.  I like to fish once in a while, but I will NOT eat them.
Ew. Gross. Nasty.

Now that it's summer, this is what most of our weekend look like.  Do you like to fish??

Happy fishin' Friday, friends!

What I Wore: Sometimes, I wear child's clothing.

Wanna know a funny story about this coat?

Well even if you don't, I'm gonna tell you anyways.

I was making a Christmas List for my mom (yes I am spoiled rotten), and I told her I wanted a fun colored spring trench.

She tells me to send her a link of one I liked.  So, I Googled and this was the first coat that came up.  Ironically enough, I thought it was cute, so I sent her the link.  I didn't look at the coat too closely, I could tell by the thumbnail that I liked it.  Plus, even if she didn't get this exact one {which I didn't except her too}, at least she had an idea of what I wanted.

Two months later, I opened this coat on Christmas Day.
And it's from the little girl's section at Target.

My mom originally ordered a small and when it came in the mail she nearly freaked out!
It was mini-sized... until she looked closer.  It was a CHILD'S size small.

So, she asked if I really liked it... I said yes... and then she ordered me an XL and here I am wearing it this spring.

Funny how that worked out.

Oh but you know, I'm not the only one who wears child clothing.
This cool girl does too.  And so does this hot momma.

And this fabulous purse?  A friend of a friend made it for me.
I picked out the fabric and she sewed it right up for me.

Outfit Details:
Coat, skinnies, flats --> Target
Scarf --> Kohl's
Sunnies --> Scout
Purse--> From a friend of a friend

So tell me, do you ever shop in the little girl's section?? ;)

My Must-Have Beauty Products {take 2!}

Missed my first must-have post?  Click here to get caught up.

Must-have beauty products
First off, are you a victim of liquid-paper-white skin too?  Well, complain no longer! You too can have glorious bronzed skin without the damaging UV Rays or orange gobs of streaked skin.
Great plug, huh? ;)  Seriously though.

Xen-Tan Self Tanner
A huge thank you to Shana {Because Shana Said So} for raving about this product.  Read her post about it here.  After her high praises, I sought out to Ulta and snatched up a bottle for about $27.  I was apprehensive though; that is a lot of moolha to spend on a product just to make my skin look not so glow-in-the-dark like.
However, after two weeks of every other day application, I LOVE it!  Like with all self-tanners, you have to be careful around those awkward joints (ankles, knees, elbows, and wrists) but this stuff is seriously great.  It doesn’t stink half as bad as all the other self tanners that I’ve tried, and it’s very natural looking.  I highly recommend it.

Revlon Fast Dry Nail Polishes
These come in lots of fun colors and the drying time is super fast for all you on-the-goers out there.  And you only need two coats; the color is true to the bottle.  Also lately, Target has had a wonderful coupon running for these!

A quarter sized droplet fingered through wet, towel-dried hair before styling makes your hair silky smooth and soft!  And it smells phenomenal.  I feel like my hair looks and feels healthier since I’ve been using this.

For seriously, this is like butter.  It's very light, natural, creamy -- not greasy, smells heavenly {not over-powering at all}, lasts through a few hand washes, and keeps your hands soft like a babies bottom.  I LOVE it.

What are your must-have beauty products lately??

*Please note these opinions are my own; just sharing some great finds with my readers.
I was not compensated for doing this post {though wouldn’t that be wonderful? ;)…}

Spring.

It's a glorious time of year.
Besides itchy, watery eyes.  A sore throat, runny nose, and massive headaches, I really enjoy it.

In fact, it's almost actually summer.  Umm hmm, June 20th marks the first day of summer.

With that, it's about time I get these here pictures up.

  Now, let's get our 2nd grade thinking caps on and play I Spy... can you spot the common theme to all these photos?

What I Wore: Goose Chasing.

The title of this post....

is appropriately named, no?

Outfit Details
Boyfriend cardi & skinnies --> Target
Tank -> Sam's Club
Scarf --> Dress Barn
Belt --> Kohl's
Sunnies --> Payless
Boots --> Fleet Farm (also worn here, here, and here)

I gotta say, it's not everyday you come across a goose, much less get a picture with one.

That my friends, is the beauty of living in the middle of nowhere.

And believe it or not, stranger things have happened out here in the boondocks.
But that story is for another day.

Wishing you a wonderful, goose-filled Wednesday!

A Bathroom Blurb on Motivation {and my patheticness}

At work, we have these encouraging Healthy Living flyers that get posted on the backside of each bathroom stall.  In which, I’ll be honest… it’s nice to have some reading material at my disposal while I’m doing my thang.

Usually the flyers talk about the importance of sun screen, drinking water, eating right, etc.

This month, the Bathroom Blurb says:
“There are 1,440 minutes in a day, set aside 30 minutes for physical activity.”

Insert: My usual excuse to not work out… I just can’t find the time!

{via}

So when you look at it this way, I am just pathetic.

Let me prove my point.

Patheticness #1:  In my last meeting with our Health Coach at work, when asked the question, “Do you get 30 minutes of increased heart rate exercise at least three times a week?”  And I replied with, “If jogging up and down the stairs when doing laundry counts, I’m all over that shizz.”  Apparently, that answer didn’t cut it. I just got that blank stare like… really?
Yes, really.

Patheticness #2:  I sweat when I vacuum the house.  And our house it NOT large by any means.
*Although, read this... maybe it's legit?

Patheticness #3: I tried running during my walk the other day, and I had all I could do to jog 0.48 miles, which then resulted in me keeling over in the ditch damn near puking, with 911 dialed on my cell.  All I hada do was push send people… I couldn’t breathe!!  Grace just keep looking up at me like, “OMG ma, are you gonna make it?”
I just hope to God the neighbors were not home.

Patheticness #4: My arm/shoulder muscles were sore for TWO DAYS after an afternoon fetch session with Gracie.

I am clearly the definition of patheticness, which by the way, IS a new word.  If you look it up in the dictionary, you will see:
Pa-thet-ic-ness {adverb?}: See Katie, from My Darling Days.

So, what gives?!!!!  It’s not like I’m trying to lose a buncha weight, I just need to tone up, and not be out of breath when I walk swiftly from one side of the house to the other.

Motivation.  Please.Come.My.Way.  I still haven’t found you…
